📖 Verse of the Day

Reflection:

When thunder rattles the windows at night, little children don’t lie there trying to be brave. They run straight down the hall to the one who makes them feel safe, climb in close, and hold on tight.

Then we grow up, and our troubles grow up with us. Most of us stop running like that. We put on a brave face and try to handle it all ourselves, even when it’s too much.

But Psalm 46:1 doesn’t tell us to be strong. It tells us who our strength is: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” The Maker of heaven and earth still hears the smallest footsteps running toward Him.

So whatever this day brings, you can take off the brave face. When the storm is loud, He’ll be your refuge. When your knees feel weak, He’ll be your strength. You’re never too grown up to run to your Father.

Ask Yourself:

• Where have I been trying to be strong all by myself, when God is ready to be my strength?

• Who always seems to be holding everyone else up, and could use a little care from me today?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

You are my refuge and my strength, and I’m so thankful I can come to You at any hour, day or night. Sometimes I wait far too long to ask for Your help, and yet You welcome me every single time.

When I’m tempted to handle everything on my own, remind me how near You are. Hold me close when the storms come, and steady me for the day ahead.

Thank You for hearing every prayer, even the ones I can’t put into words.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
