- ๐ Verse of the Day: Psalm 42:11

๐ Good morning,
Before the day gets busy, letโs take a moment with God. However today goes, our hope is safe in Him.
Have a blessed day.

๐ Verse of the Day

โWhy, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.โ
Reflection:
We all talk to ourselves. Sometimes itโs out loud, while we hunt for the car keys. Sometimes itโs a quiet pep talk before something hard. But on a heavy day, when weโre worn out or worried or missing someone, that inner voice can turn unkind. It replays every mistake and says nothing will ever change.
Psalm 42 lets us overhear one of those conversations. Its writer was hurting. โMy tears have been my food day and night,โ he wrote. But instead of just listening to his heart, he talked back to it: โWhy, my soul, are you downcast?โ And he told it where to look: โPut your hope in God.โ
He didnโt say it just once. These same words appear three times in this psalm and the next. He had to remind his heart, and then remind it again.
So be gentle with your heart when it needs reminding. Point it back to God today, and again tomorrow, as many times as it takes.
And the next time that inner voice says nothing will ever change, answer it the way the psalmist did, with one small word: yet. โI will yet praise Him.โ
Ask Yourself:
What truth about God does my heart most need to hear today?
How could I answer my own heart the next time it feels downcast?
๐ Prayer of the Day
Dear Lord,
Like the deer that longs for water, my heart longs for You. Thank You that I can come to You just as I am, even when I feel low and canโt say why.
On the days my hope runs thin, help me speak hope to my own heart, as often as I need to. Thank You that Your love is with me by day, and Your song is with me through the night.
Thank You that I can never sink too low for You to reach me, my Savior and my God.
In Jesusโ name, Amen.
