📖 Verse of the Day

Psalm 27:1 verse card: The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

“The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”

Reflection:

The house gets quiet, the lights go off, and the questions start. What if it doesn’t work out? What if I’m not enough? What if something happens to someone I love? Fear almost always shows up as a question, and it never seems to run out of them.

David knew those questions well. He wrote this psalm with real enemies around him. Yet when fear started asking, he answered with a question of his own: “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?”

Fear asks, “What if?” Faith asks, “Whom shall I fear?” The first question leaves you alone with everything that could go wrong. The second turns your eyes to the One who has never once let go of you.

So when a what-if finds you this week, you can answer it the way David did: The Lord is my light. He is my salvation. He is the stronghold of my life. Whom shall I fear?

Ask Yourself:

  • Which “what if” could I answer with God’s promise today?

  • Who in my life could use a reminder that the Lord is their light too?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Father,

Thank You for being my light and my salvation, even in the quiet hours when the “what ifs” come. Forgive me for the times I’ve listened to fear longer than I’ve listened to You. I want to answer every worry with Your promises, my eyes on You and my heart at rest. Please help me remember, every time fear starts asking, that I am Yours. With You as the stronghold of my life, whom shall I fear?

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
