📖 Verse of the Day

“The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.”
Reflection:
We can be quick to say, “I’ll enjoy life when…” When the work slows down, when the answer comes, when everyone we love is doing well. But Psalm 118 invites us to rejoice today. Its writer thanks God for answering and saving him, then asks for help again just after this verse. Gratitude and need belong in the same prayer. We don’t have to wait until everything is settled to celebrate what God has already done.
That means joy doesn’t ask you to pretend. You can trust God with what’s unfinished and still welcome what’s good. In Jesus, you have forgiveness, belonging, and a hope that reaches beyond this day. Those gifts are already yours. So enjoy the conversation. Sing along to the hymn. Let a small kindness make you smile, and thank the Father who loves you. Today, you don’t have to choose between being honest about life and being glad in God. There is room for both.
Ask Yourself:
What has God already put in this day that I could thank Him for out loud?
What would it look like to welcome joy while still being honest with God about what I need?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Father in Heaven,
Thank You for the good You’ve already done, and for the hope I have in Jesus. Help me rejoice today without pretending that everything is easy. I bring You both my gratitude and the things I’m still praying about.
Open my eyes to the gifts I might hurry past. Let me enjoy them with a thankful heart, and make me generous in sharing that gladness. Thank You that I can be honest and still find joy with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
