📖 Verse of the Day
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
Reflection:
A song, a place, a face in a crowd, and suddenly an old mistake is right there again. We asked God to forgive it long ago. Yet somehow it keeps finding its way back.
King David lived with that too. He once wrote that his sin was always in front of him. But he also wrote these words: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
The sun rises on one edge of the sky and sets on the other. That’s how far God’s love has carried your sins away. Not a step behind you, where you could reach back and pick them up again.
The memory may still come back now and then. The guilt doesn’t. Jesus paid for that sin in full, and God has sent it as far as the east is from the west. He isn’t going back for it, and you don’t have to either.
Ask Yourself:
What old mistake am I still holding against myself that God no longer holds against me?
Who could I forgive a little more freely today, the way God forgives me?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear Lord,
I can hardly take in how completely You forgive. Thank You for taking my sins so far from me, and for never loving me any less because of them.
When the past comes back to mind, help me hold on to Your promise instead of my regret, and rest in the forgiveness Jesus paid for on the cross.
I never want to take Your mercy for granted. Today, let it make me gentle with others, just as You have always been gentle with me.
