📖 Verse of the Day
“Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’”
Reflection:
Some days, faith comes easily. Other days, we believe God is good, yet part of us still wonders if He’ll really answer. Faith pulls one way, and doubt pulls the other.
A father once stood before Jesus feeling that same tug. His son had suffered since childhood, and not even Jesus’ disciples had been able to help. So he was completely honest with Him: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
Jesus didn’t send him away for doubting. He didn’t make him pick a side first. He heard that trembling prayer, and then He took the boy by the hand and lifted him to his feet.
Maybe your faith feels a little shaky today. Jesus doesn’t need you to win the tug-of-war before you come to Him. He welcomes the part of you that believes and the part that’s still unsure. Honest faith is still faith, and He knows just what to do with it.
Ask Yourself:
What question or doubt have I been keeping from Jesus because I thought my faith should be stronger by now?
Who in my life feels pulled between faith and doubt right now, and how could I be patient with them the way Jesus is patient with me?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear Lord,
Thank You for never asking me to have perfect faith before I come to You. You know my heart, doubts and all, and You still welcome me with open arms.
When my faith feels small and my questions feel big, help me bring them all to You instead of hiding them. I do believe, Lord; help me overcome my unbelief.
And on the days when I can’t hold on very tightly, thank You for holding on to me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
