Today, let’s give thanks for the Good Shepherd, who never gives up on His sheep. Wherever this morning finds you, He calls you by name, and you are precious to Him.

📖 Verse of the Day

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders.”

Reflection:

Sheep rarely run away. They wander. They follow one patch of grass to the next with their heads down, until they look up and the flock is nowhere in sight. We can drift from God the same way, one small step at a time.

Jesus told a story about a sheep like that. The shepherd doesn’t shrug and settle for ninety-nine. He goes after the one that wandered, “until he finds it.” Not until it gets dark. Not until he’s tired. Until he finds it.

And when he finds it, there’s no scolding and no long walk back with its head hung low. He lifts it onto his shoulders and carries it home. The sheep that got lost doesn’t even have to walk.

Maybe you’ve felt far from God lately, or maybe you’re praying for someone who has drifted away. Either way, no one is too far for Him to reach, and the Shepherd hasn’t stopped looking. He doesn’t stop at ninety-nine.

Ask Yourself:

  • Where have I been slowly moving away from God, and what would it look like to let Him bring me home?

  • Who could I keep praying for, even though they seem far from God?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

I’m so thankful that You never give up on me. Even on the days I stray, You know right where I am, and You keep calling me back with so much patience and love.

Keep my heart close to You today. And for the ones I love who feel far from You, please keep searching until they come home to You.

Thank You for calling me Yours, and for carrying me when I can’t find my way.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
