📖 Verse of the Day

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Reflection:
Some mornings, fear wakes up before we do. It’s there in the waiting room before an appointment, or at the door of a gathering where we hardly know anyone. Sometimes it has no name at all, just a tightness inside that makes us want to stay home where it’s safe.
Paul wrote today’s words to Timothy, a friend he loved like a son. He hadn’t forgotten Timothy’s tears. “Recalling your tears,” he told him, “I long to see you.”
Paul didn’t save these words for the fearless. He sent them to someone who knew what it was to cry. And because the same Spirit lives in everyone who belongs to Jesus, they’re for you, too.
So if your hands still shake a little today, that’s all right. The power to take the next step, the love to reach out to whoever you meet and the clear mind to see it through don’t have to come from you. They come from Him, and He’s already in the room, waiting for you.
Ask Yourself:
What worry or fear could I hand over to God right now?
Is there someone I could call or write to today who might be feeling afraid?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear God,
When I look calm on the outside but feel anything but calm inside, what a relief that I don’t have to pretend with You. Thank You for seeing every fear I carry and loving me just the same. I’m holding on to the Spirit You’ve given me, who is stronger than anything I’ll face today. When someone near me is frightened, let me be as gentle with them as You are with me. I’m choosing to trust You with all of it, Lord.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
