📖 Verse of the Day

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Reflection:
Maybe there’s a part of your story you’d rather no one knew. Years you drifted far from God. A season you’re not proud of. An old label you’ve never managed to shake. Long after everyone else has moved on, the past can keep quietly telling you who you are.
Today’s verse says, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come.” Anyone. That word has room for every story, including yours.
Think of Zacchaeus, the tax collector who climbed a tree just to see Jesus. When Jesus went home with him, the crowd muttered, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” That was their name for him.
Jesus had a different one. He called him by name, and before the day was over, He called him a son of Abraham, one of God’s own family.
The old has gone. All of it.
Those labels may still whisper from time to time. But in Christ, they no longer get to name you.
So when the past tries to tell you who you are, listen for the One who knows your name. He has the final say, and He says you are new.
Ask Yourself:
What old label have I been carrying that God never gave me?
Where in my life am I longing to see God make something new?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Father in Heaven,
There are moments when my past speaks louder than it should. Thank You that it never gets the last word. Thank You for calling me Yours when I had nothing to bring, for washing away what I could never undo, and for the new life You’ve already begun in me.
When the old voices come back, may Yours be the one I hear above them all, gentle and sure, reminding me who I really am. What joy to know that in You, the old has gone and the new is here, even for me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
