📖 Verse of the Day
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Reflection:
Have you ever noticed how worry follows you around? Maybe it’s a bill, a test result you’re waiting on, or a conversation you keep replaying. We tell ourselves we’re handling it, but most of us are simply carrying it.
Then comes 1 Peter 5:7, and it says something almost too simple to believe: cast all your anxiety on Him. The word Peter chose is a throwing word, like heaving a heavy pack onto something strong enough to carry it. Not some of it. Not the manageable parts. All of it.
And the reason isn’t that God wants you to try harder. It’s that He cares for you. The God who holds the universe together cares about the thing on your mind right now. He wants your worries, because He wants you.
So today, when the worry shows up again, don’t carry it. Throw it onto Him, as many times as you need to. He isn’t asking you to be strong today. He’s asking you to let Him be strong for you.
Ask Yourself:
What worry have I been carrying that I haven’t truly handed to God?
How would today feel different if I believed He cares about it as much as I do?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear Heavenly Father,
Sometimes I hold my worries so tightly that I forget You asked me to hand them over. Thank You for caring about the things that weigh on me, even the ones I’m embarrassed to say out loud.
I cast them on You today: the fear I can’t shake, the situation I can’t fix, the people I can’t stop thinking about. Hold them, and hold me. Every time I pick them back up, remind me that I don’t have to be strong, because You are.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
