📖 Verse of the Day

Zephaniah 3:17 verse image from the Our Daily Verse archive.

"The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."

Reflection:

Most of us know what it's like to sing to God. In church, in the car, or quietly in the kitchen. But have you ever thought about God singing over you?

That's how the book of Zephaniah ends. Most of it is warning after warning. But on the last page, God promises to gather His scattered people, take away their shame and bring them home. He knows everywhere they've wandered. And still, the Mighty Warrior who saves them breaks into song.

Through Jesus, that welcome is yours too. We may have believed that for years and still be learning how to enjoy it. Maybe part of us still comes to God expecting a scolding. But look at the verse again: "in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."

So today, bring Him everything on your heart. He wants to hear it all. But first, stay a moment with this: you're not someone God just puts up with. You're someone He sings over.

Ask Yourself:

  • What changes in the way I pray when I remember that God delights in His children?

  • Who could I help feel genuinely wanted and welcome today?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing me home through Jesus. It amazes me that You don't just put up with me. You love me, You delight in me, and You rejoice over me with singing.

Some days that's hard for me to believe. On those days, remind me of Your welcome. I have a lot to bring You today, and I'm grateful You listen. But first, I just want to say: I love You too.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
