Today's verse ends with one of the happiest words in the Bible: joy. Let's see how God's comfort gets us there.
Have a blessed day.

π Verse of the Day

βWhen anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.β
Reflection:
Not every worry shows. Plenty of us have smiled, said "I'm fine," and carried on with the day, while inside, one anxious thought kept leading to the next, and the next. People see the smile. They don't see the what-ifs.
The writer of this psalm had been there. Just before this verse, he remembers saying, "My foot is slipping." But look what happened. God's comfort reached him deep inside, right where the worry was, and it did more than calm him down. It brought him joy. Not a brave face, but the real thing. And his troubles weren't even over yet. God met him in the middle of them.
That same comfort is there for you. Others may only see the smile, but God sees every what-if behind it, and He knows just how to reach you there. Whenever the worries start piling up, you can bring them to Him, just as they are.
His comfort doesn't wait for the worries to leave. Neither does the joy.
Ask Yourself:
How do I usually picture God on my hardest days: watching over me, or looking away?
What helps me see past someone's smile to what's really going on?
π Prayer of the Day
Dear God,
Thank You for being right here with me. On the days when my smile and my heart don't match, thank You for knowing the difference. And on the days when they do, thank You for that joy, too.
May my smile today come from the joy of being known by You. An
d if worry ever starts to crowd it out, remind me that You haven't taken Your eyes off me, not even for a single moment.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
