📖 Verse of the Day

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Reflection:
We do everything we can to keep the people we love safe. We pray for them and check on them, and sometimes we still lie awake wondering if they’re all right. So much of what we worry about is out of our hands.
Psalm 91 is honest about the dangers of this world. It speaks of “the terror of night” and “the arrow that flies by day.” Yet it begins with a place to rest: the shelter of the Most High, the shadow of the Almighty.
To rest in someone’s shadow, you have to stay close to them. That’s where God invites you to live, so close to Him that His shadow falls over you. And near the end of the psalm, He promises the one who loves Him, “I will be with him in trouble.”
You can’t be with the people you love every moment, but He is. So bring Him every name on your heart, and rest in the shadow of the One who loves them even more than you do.
Ask Yourself:
What am I trying to keep safe on my own that I could trust God with today?
How could I be a small shelter for someone today, with a kind word or a prayer?
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father,
When my mind races ahead to everything that could go wrong, I’m so grateful I can come to You. Thank You for being my safe place, and for watching over everyone I love. Please keep me near You today. And whenever I find myself standing guard again, I want to run straight back to You. Here in Your shelter, I can rest.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
