Our Daily Verse

🌞 Good morning,

On this Lord’s Day, our verse comes from a psalm so many of us have known by heart for years. One of its lines is even more generous than we might remember.

Have a blessed day.

📖 Verse of the Day

Psalm 23:5 verse card: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

Reflection:

Maybe there’s a cup of coffee beside you right now. Most of us pour carefully, stopping just short of the brim. And sometimes, without meaning to, we imagine God pours out His goodness that way too: just enough, and not a drop more.

David saw God very differently. He knew long nights in the fields and long years on the run from King Saul. And this is what he said to God: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

God doesn’t wait for every trouble to clear before He sets that table. He sets it right where you are, with life still unfinished all around you, and He welcomes you like an honored guest.

Whatever the week ahead holds, His love won’t come to you in little sips. He doesn’t pour carefully. He pours until it overflows.

Ask Yourself:

  • What would change today if I truly believed I’m God’s honored guest?

  • Whose cup could I help fill in the week ahead?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear Lord,

Some days I hold out such a small cup to You, as if I shouldn’t ask for much, or as if Your goodness might run out. And still You fill it, every single time. Thank You for giving me far more than I deserve. Please help me receive Your love with an open heart and share it freely with others. With You, my cup overflows.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
