📖 Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 31:3 verse card: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.’”

Reflection:

At some point, all of us are disappointed by someone we counted on. A promise slips, help doesn’t come when we need it most, or someone we were close to quietly moves on. After a while, we can start holding back a little, even with God, in case His love has limits too.

God spoke today’s verse through Jeremiah to people who had lost nearly everything: their city, their homes, their freedom. Yet He told them, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” A little later, He says His heart yearns for them, the way a parent’s heart aches for a child far from home.

People love us with human hearts, and human hearts have limits. God’s love is everlasting, and through Jesus, it’s yours.

You can count on Him. His love for you will never wear out, and it will never walk away.

Ask Yourself:

  • Where do I most need to feel God’s love today?

  • Who might need a faithful friend today, and how could I be one for them?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Loving Father,

What a gift it is to be loved by You. When people fall short, I know You never will. Thank You for drawing me close with Your kindness, day after day. Even when I haven’t loved You as I should, Your love for me has never wavered. Please help me take that love to heart today, and show it to everyone around me. You’ve loved me all my life, and I want to spend the rest of it loving You back.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
