📖 Verse of the Day

Isaiah 43:2 verse card from the Our Daily Verse archive: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Reflection:

Sometimes the most comforting words aren’t “I know how to fix this.” They’re “I’ll come with you.” The appointment is still on the calendar. But knowing someone will be there helps us breathe again.

That’s what God tells His people here. He doesn’t promise a life without deep waters or fire. He promises, “I will be with you.” And they had reason to believe Him. Their people had already walked through the Red Sea and crossed the Jordan with God beside them.

In Jesus, He kept that promise in person. Isaiah had a name for Him: Immanuel, God with us. He didn’t love us from a safe distance. He stepped into the deep water with us.

Maybe you can look back and see it in your own life: waters you were sure would sweep you away, and yet here you are. You didn’t come through them alone. So today, whatever the week ahead holds, remember: you have never been in deep water by yourself. And you never will be.

Ask Yourself:

  • Where can I look back and see that God was with me in deep water?

  • Who might need my company more than my advice today?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Loving Father,

Thank You for never asking me to go through deep water alone. When I look back, I can see You were with me in places I thought would sweep me away.

You know what I’m quietly worried about in the days ahead. When I start imagining everything that could go wrong, remind me that You’ll be there too. I don’t need to see the other side yet. I just need to know You’re coming with me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
