📖 Verse of the Day

“He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

Reflection

I don’t know what your “vast army” looks like today—but I’m guessing you can name it. A diagnosis. A decision. A stack of bills. A situation you’ve tried everything to fix and nothing seems to move.

That’s where Jehoshaphat stood in 2 Chronicles 20. Outnumbered. Afraid. Out of ideas. But instead of pretending to be strong, he admitted, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” And God answered with this: “The battle is not yours, but Mine.”

That didn’t mean they stayed in bed. They still had to show up. But they showed up differently—singing instead of panicking, standing instead of scrambling, trusting instead of trying to control the outcome.

This verse doesn’t promise a life without battles. It promises a God who steps into them with us and fights in ways we never could.

Whatever is looming over you today, you don’t have to be the hero of this story. Your job is to look up, stand firm, and let God be God.

Ask Yourself

  • What “battle” have I been trying to fight in my own strength?

  • What would it look like today to loosen my grip and trust God to do what I cannot?

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Dear God,

Some days my heart feels like Jehoshaphat’s—outnumbered, out of answers, and afraid. I rush to plan and fix and carry what was never mine to win.

Today I lay this battle before You. You know every detail, every fear, every outcome I can’t control. Teach me to seek You first, to stand where You place me, and to rest in Your strength.

Fight for me as only You can, and let Your victory become my peace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🖋 Quote of the Day

“The Word of God is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself.”
