- Trivia Answer: Where Were the Disciples on Easter Evening?
THE ANSWER IS C
In a Locked Room
“On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’”
THE QUESTION
On the evening of the first Easter, the risen Jesus came and stood among His frightened disciples and said, “Peace be with you!” Where were they?
A) In a fishing boat
B) On a mountainside
C) In a locked room ✓
D) In the temple courts
A closer look
The doors were locked because the disciples were afraid. Jesus came and stood among them anyway, and “the disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord” (John 20:19-20). Then He said it again: “Peace be with you!” (John 20:21). A week later, with Thomas there and the doors locked again, He said it once more (John 20:26).
If you thought of the boat, the mountain or the temple, you were remembering other true moments after Easter: a night of fishing (John 21:3-4), a mountain in Galilee (Matthew 28:16-17) and the temple courts, where the disciples praised God (Luke 24:52-53).
Today’s blessing ends with “give you peace” (Numbers 6:26). On that first Easter evening, Jesus brought His peace into the room Himself.
