A closer look

People were bringing little children to Jesus so He could place His hands on them, “but the disciples rebuked them” (Mark 10:13). Maybe they thought Jesus was too busy for kids.

Jesus didn’t see it that way. He was indignant, and He told them, “Let the little children come to me” (Mark 10:14). Then “he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them” (Mark 10:16).

No one had to earn a place in His arms. It’s a small picture of today’s promise: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
